Hi! I’m Emily, owner of EmBARK Dog Training. I’ve lived in Antigonish, NS, almost my entire life and have been a lover of dogs for as long as I can remember. In 2019, my golden retriever, Waylon, joined my family—and little did I know, he would completely change the course of my life. Working with a trainer during Waylon’s puppyhood sparked a passion in me that has only grown stronger ever since.
At the time, I was working as an elementary and middle school teacher, a career I held for six and a half years. I later transitioned into a role with the federal government, but my passion for dog training continued to grow. What began with offering puppy socialization classes in October 2022 soon expanded into private training sessions in early 2023.
In early 2025, I took a leap of faith and officially launched EmBARK Dog Training. Turning a lifelong love of dogs into a full-time career has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my life. Today, I’m grateful to help dog owners and their pups build stronger, more positive relationships every day. Looking ahead, I’m excited to expand EmBARK to include dog boarding services in 2026.
